For all Notifiable work you must either, inform your local building control officer before starting work if doing the work yourself, or using a non-registered part P electrician. Or you can use a part P registered electrician who can start straight away, and will inform building control via their scheme provider. If you do not abide by this law, you could be fined upto £5000 for each violation.
