of the true facts about registered company's,
and who can complete work for you at any time.
I have found that many people, organisations and company's, think that they should only use an NICEIC registered company to complete work for them. This is totally untrue, as you can use any registered member of any of the following organisations, especially for notifyable electrical work.
The NICEIC have been around for many years now and are a very good organisation, but the other organisations are also very good in what they do. All engineers in all the different organisations are vetted and regularly assessed, that they are conforming to the regulations of their organisation and current Building & Electrical regulations.
Some organisations such as insurance companys, councils etc, will not accept electrical certificates from non NICEIC companys. This is an ongoing matter and is in the process of changing, but many organisations are now accepting them. Please check with your insurance company to see who they will accept certificates from, before engaging a non NICEIC company to work for you.
All Napit members are all assessed, where as some other organisations like the NICEIC only assess maybe one person within a company, to be able to write out certificates. Napit insist we have indemnity insurance, to cover us when we complete periodic test & inspections, should we give bad advice.
You the customer now has more choice in who you employ to do the work for you, but it should always be remembered, cheapest is not always the best. Always check out the company or electrician before engaging them, to makesure they are qualified and have insurance. Registered electrical company's must have public liability insurance, unregistered company's might not, so check the company out before using them. Due to the Government bringing in the part P regulations, there are many company's or electricians committing fraud by saying they are part P qualified when they are not. Always check any company out before engaging them, as you could face a fine or not be able to claim against their insurance if they don't have any.

We give honest advice and have indemnity insurance of £250 thousand, should we give you the wrong advice. We also have £5 million public liability insurance, should you need to make a claim against us for any reason.
We are a part P registered installer
As we are a part P registered installer, we can legally complete all types of electrical work, and issue electrical certificates on completion. which also includes all notifiable electrical work, that must only be completed by a part P registered installer under the Government regulation part P.
We mainly work in the Kent area, but will undertake electrical work in other areas if requested. We are a part P approved registered service, registered with the National Association of Professional Inspectors & Testers ( NAPIT ).
All part P registered installers are regularly assessed by their part P scheme provider, to check they are working to current electrical & building regulations, and certificating all work as per BS.7671. If required we have to complete update courses, to keep up with current electrical & building rules and regulations at all times.
Written Contracts
We complete all our work to written contracts issued to all our clients, stating all work that is being completed, and the price or rate being charged for the work. Contracts are issued to all clients, so there will not be any misunderstandings until the job is finished. Each contract is a legal document for the safety of all Wilkinson Electrical Services clients and us, should there ever be a problem between us.
Notifications to Building Control
Under part P regulations, all notifiable work must be completed by a part P registered installer, or be informed to building control of your local council before work starts. As we are part P registered we can undertake all types of electrical work and notifiable work. We can start straight away, and you do not need an inspection from a building control officer. All notifications to building control will be completed by us, via our part P scheme provider, the National Association of Professional Inspectors & Testers.
Electrical Certificates
We are qualified to complete all types of electrical work, and issue electrical certificates on completion. We issue electrical certificates for all work we complete as per the regulations BS.7671, Minor works certificates for small jobs, Installation certificates for jobs requiring them & periodic inspection reports for reporting on existing electrical installations. All certificates are issued within 7 days of completion, no certificate is issued until full payment has been received.
We are also qualified to complete periodic test & inspections of all types of property, and issue a periodic inspection report on the condition of any electrical installation. We offer free retests after a failed periodic test & inspection, if we have undertaken the remedial work required to rectify any faults found during the first periodic inspection.
Our Rates & Charges Our rates are the same 24 hours a day 365 days a year, so whatever time of day or night, on a weekend or on a Bank Holiday, you will always pay the same rates at all times. You will be notified of all rates & charges within the contract you sign before any work starts, and you will be notified of any extra charges should there be any change in the contract. We do not charge a callout fee within 20 miles of Medway Kent, and we give free estimates & quotes also within 20 miles of Medway Kent.
Safety & Workmanship
While working we always work to the electricity at work regulations, to keep you your family or staff and us safe at all times. We always leave a property as we found it, that is to say we tidy up on completion, but all dusting is left to the owner or occupier of the building. All waste materials are to be disposed of by the owner or occupier, as we do not carry waste at any time. We always use materials agreed with every client, but we will reuse light fittings, points etc if they are in good working order. We never use second hand materials on any job, unless it is the only option to complete a job at the time. Our top priority is and always will be safety at all times, for us our clients and family or staff, we never leave a site unsafe or dangerous at any time.

We might not be the cheapest Company around, but we offer value for money, Quality workmanship, honesty & reliability, and all work is completed to current electrical & building regulations. We do our job once and rarely go back to rectify our work, because we do what we have to do the right way first time.
